Eileen van Bavel  lives in Eltham, Victoria.

Her work finds expression in abstract and semi abstract representations of the Australian environment, interpersonal relationships, the nude and the concept of place.

In these representations Eileen incorporates textured and sculptural surfaces with layers of glazes, paper and thick modelling compounds.The works reflect her energetic and spontaneous approach to process, working intuitively and dynamically as each piece evolves. The creative use of line as embellishment is often a major feature of Eileens work which serves to add another dimension and level of interest to the subject.
